Actually, I'd argue the exact opposite. This sort of thing is exactly why we need to bring these "developing" - which is slang for "being ass-raped by their leaders and the First World, if they have anything valuable" - countries (Africa is a continent, not a country) out of the near-stone-age.

I disagree, I think we should stop supporting the countries in Africa an just let them kill each other. There is a reason why life flourished after we left Africa, it's just a god forsaken place where humans aren't meant to live.
By sending money to starving children the only thing we achive is to prolong there pain.
I've actually been to parts of africa and I'm not joking when I'm saying that north and middle of africa is hell on earth. The poverty and the human suffering there is beyond belief.

I'm not surprised at all. Coming from a continent where they regularly cut off the clitoris and labia of infant girls and then sew their vaginas shut, and believe that raping a virgin is a cure for AIDS, or that condoms are manufactured with microscopic holes to let HIV through (if they accept that HIV causes AIDS at all), or that polio vaccines are a white conspiracy to render them infertile or...

The list goes on and on. Irrationality and superstition are like a contradiction on a logic system. It immediately contaminates everything. You could say, from irrationality, everything follows, whether it be harmless rain-bringing rituals or the beheading of your children.

The sad thing in this case, though, was that it wasn't even his kid. It was his sister's. Not that that makes a ton of difference, but I guess that's what horrified me the most.
