This is exactly what Bill Clinton eliminated while in office. He developed a federal government budget surplus, and began using it to eliminate the trade deficit.

i have now fed off of that thought for about 5 seconds, and the aftertaste is bitter. that's alot of money that could be used for alot of things.

interresting thing btw: i watched a talk show last week where they discussed economy, and a physics dude that were kinda good at maths made a rough assumption about the total amount of money in the world. after getting some info from a dude that works at CNN as some sort of economics professor or something i dunno, he came to the conclusion that counting all the money in the world, and withdrawing all the debt in the world, it would leave every single person on with about $20.000.

they discussed alot of other things, amongst them the (made up) bill gates paradox: when bill was peaking, he was making about $4.500/second. wich means that if he was out walking, and suddenly dropped the above mentioned $20.000, it wouldnt be worth the five seconds it would take for him to stop, take a step back, bow down and pick it up and then continue, he'd make more money by just keep moving.
