Actually that's NOT the reason I'm against a ban. I'm against an outdoor smoking ban cause I honestly think it goes too far. If the goverment wants to dictate to a business owner and tell them whether or not they can have smoking in their establishment that's already too far in my opinion. But it's done and that's now the law. They've also raised cigarettes taxes here in NYC to ridiculously high rates. I would totally support it if they used that cash to *clean the ....ing cigarette butts off the street!* but they're still there. But going yet another step further to tell people they're not allowed to smoke in the free open public I think goes too far. That's why I'm against it.
What I was agreeing to in response to 7DyingTrees' post was that I think it's silly to view outdoor smoking as a health threat when there are far more harmful pollutants out there that we suck in every day. I agree that it's becoming a moral crusade.
