Whatever the case may be, take the racial part of the argument away, and assume that you KNOW that whoever it is you witnessed committing a crime is guilty (since you witnessed it). Would you tell the cops anything, whether the dude is white or black?

As a wanna be cop with lots of cops that I talk to....Just about everyone in jail deserves to be there. They earned their way in somehow. It doesn't matter if the sold a dime bag or murdered someone, they committed a crime and got themselves a penthouse suite in a special neighboorhood that they belong in.

If one out of every eight black men happen to be criminals, then one out of every eight should be sitting in jail. Just because a large percent of a certain demographic is currently in jail doesn't mean they shouldn't be there.

Lots of people are being put away for drug offenses, because drugs are illegal. Race has nothing to do with it.

I can imagine how frustrating it must be for the cops in circumstances where people have blatently witnessed a serious crime and no one has the balls to come forwards. In fact, no, its not even about having balls, its just being plain fucking awkward and ultimately stopping someone from doing their job.

No, thats what your friends are for. They're trying to do a job and you're being a arse about it by not helping them do that job and therefore letting people walk free who could be a danger to others.

I know that if I was shot and survived it I would give the police as much information as they needed to catch whoever did it so that that person doesn't have the chance to do it again, next time they could take my life and is that persons freedom really worth dying for?

If you watch the first video, Busta Rhyme's bodyguard was murdered in the studio he was in, but Busta refuses to talk to the police because it might hurt his record sales. If I was that man's wife, I would sue Busta into next fucking week.

The question that I have is on the psychology of snitching. Is it from fear of retribution or a combination of apathy and a mistrust of police that has grown from years of inner city strife? This really gets to me. I'm white, but I was born in Swaziland, South Africa so I have alot of love for African culture. To see where, once was love and friendship was prevalent, turn into hate, apathy and paranoia makes me sick. Seven Stringers for peace!

Definitely, paying tribute to the guy in a music video/song is bullshit. This guy had 3 kids who are going to grow up knowing that their Father was murdered and the killer got away with it so that the guy he was working for, who on any other day probably couldn't give two shits about their Father, could keep a consistant cash flow.

If Busta cared so much he would've gone to the police, if not for the crime itself then for the guys wife and kids so they've got the peace-of-mind that the guy who killed their husband/father got punished for it.
