End The Silence
On March 12 2011, the Fukushima nuclear power plant went into full meltdown. If you hadn't heard about this yet you can read about it here, Wiki Article.
Over the past year or so, there has been little press about this, and little done. This single event has the potential completely wipe the planet clean of human and animal life and it's being treated like nothing and being left in the hands of people who are either too stupid to know what there dealing with or too proud to ask for help. This article is a real eye opener and I think everyone should take a couple minutes even to just glance through it... Quote:

Your link leads me to sevenstring.org, and until I see some proof, I don't believe you. Also, Wikipedia isn't a reliable source of anything.

Link fixed. But really ? What's there not to believe ? That it happened ? Or the severity of it ? ?

I don't watch CNN. I know people in Japan.
I guess an internet blog is more reliable than eyewitness testimony. Nice to see logic and critical thinking are alive and well. I weep for this generation. "FFDP is metal for Nascar fans."-Rick "Someone said they like guns. I like Mel Gibson."-God |

To echo the sentiment in here, this will NOT even come close to mass extinction of anything. The radiation will only reach out about 250 miles in any direction (from what I recall, someone correct me if you know the correct mileage). This meltdown might be on par with Chernobyl but even if it is, that isn't saying much in the way of mass extinction since we are all still here. Don't worry about it. Media tries to hype things up way too much.

The logic behind my belief in the possibility that nothing has been done to properly contain this disaster is the silence around it and the fact that theres been no declaration of the fact that the situation is under control. That's all well an great you have friends that live near there. Wonderful. Doesn't mean anything. Spend the rest of your life with blinders on if you want. 1.There were no meltdowns at Fukushima, only a single partial. 2.The construction methods of the two plants are COMPLETELY different. 3.The radiation, even in the case of a meltdown, would only spread about 300 miles, not kill all life on earth. It's becoming quite clear you don't understand science or how reactors work. "FFDP is metal for Nascar fans."-Rick "Someone said they like guns. I like Mel Gibson."-God |

This site is a Conspiracy Theorist's heaven. I would not believe a word of it. If it were a lot worse than we would notice a few things going that would seem shady by the government and people would start asking more questions..
Backing up disinformation, internet hype and conspiracy nuts like the asshole who wrote this article is how bullshit and scare tactics arise and feed the exact same people who think December 21, 2012 is the end. Please don't support people like that and be sure to check your sources like your teachers in school said. Guitarman and Blind said it perfectly, and I would take their word for it. Got to love internet, anyone can say anything and the sad thing is other people believe it. Fear is something that all people grasp a hold of. I will start worrying when ESP stops making my guitars

This reminds me of that thread a couple months back on "China and Russia Prepare for World War III" or something like that. Well that war has not started yet...doubt it will anytime soon, but I digress. The Powerplant Event did not get that much attention because 1. Japanese are that damn good at building a reactor and coming together to rectify the problem. Was it a tragedy? Yes. But I am sure that situations like this were something the Japanese and other governments were ready to deal with. I mean look at the way they build cars, guitars, engines, electronics, ect. You think that they would not put the same type of care, organization and engineering into something that significant? It is part of their culture to do so. 2. A lot of other things are going on in the world for the media to fill us with bull shit on, so they moved on to something else. To be fair, the only people who are being stubborn about this is Tokyo Light and Power. The average Japanese citizen is beyond furious and reform is quickly happening. I'm even surprised at how fast things are moving, and I'm intimately familiar with Japanese logistics and government.

The coverup, as minor as it was, was quickly brought to light and the conspirators were named and shamed. Regardless of the need for social and civil reform in Japan, they are highly efficient, and this is no exception. A meltdown can't happen. It would never be allowed, now that the reactor is under the national eye. People don't understand how rapid and efficient Japanese disaster response and logistics are. FEMA this is not.

This is some high level jackassery.
"More Cesium in Reactor 4 SFP than all nukes ever exploded." Just being in the reactor doesn't make it a threat. A minor leak would be cause for concern but wouldn't trigger an extinction level event, if the reactor had blown like Chernobyl then and only then would there be a large scale threat to the human race and the world in general but they didn't even come close. Nice sensationalism though. If we were actually 13 months into an extinction level event we would be beyond the point of no return, literally nothing could be done to rectify the situation so the only thing articles like this would contribute to would be mass panic before the inevitable death of everyone and everything on planet earth. while I would take a source like this with a grain of salt, the Japanese government is notorious for misleading their people about the severity of domestic issues. And the thing is that, culturally, Japanese people have strong faith in their government and are more likely to stick it out and hope for the best than freak out over the perceived still-looming threat.

The situation is actually as under control as humanly possible and some of the world's best and brightest are working on it.
Don't worry. ![]() OH, and they're also gonna be building a new plant complex in Georgia, it's recently been approved (and that's huge, hasn't been a new one since what, the seventies?). Can't wait to see people freak over that.
