I saw this yesterday and shared it on my Facebook page.

Displays like this couldn't possibly make me any more embarrassed to be an American. THOSE are my countrymen?

I just don't understand how systems from State to State can be so drastically different to produce people who believe what those people believe. I moved around a lot when I was a kid, and everywhere I grew up was collectively intolerant of only one thing: Intolerance.

In elementary school, whenever I made friends with a kid who came from an immigrated family, my parents would arrange with their parents for 2 dinners; one with our customs and one with theirs. By the time I was 12, I'd eaten with Egyptians, Indians, Palestinians, Japanese, Chinese, Koreans, and a few others. Funnily enough, I completely forgot about any of that ever happening until just now. Associative memory, I guess...

Point being, I'm just baffled by this kind of behavior, not to mention offended, embarrassed, and sickened.

But it's those few people that give us a bad reputation abroad, that's my only beef, I don't have to deal with these ....heads on a daily basis, so I see your point there, but at the end of the day, in many people's eyes we're all American and not everyone realizes we're not all like this.

I've been at rallies where neo-Nazis have been chanting for foreigners to go home... and they were joined by Native Americans, who pointed at the neo-Nazis while chanting the same thing.

It's pretty funny, especially since most of the neo-Nazis are *not* what I'd call even close to the supposed Aryan ideal, and the Native Americans were in fairly decent shape.

The crowd usually chants "Hypocrites! Hypocrites! Go back home! Go back home!" at the neo-Nazis. It's hard to be taken seriously when you're the foreigner complaining about others coming over....

You are a country where people support cutting education spending to reduce deficits but support illegal, unnecessary mindbogglingly expensive wars. A country where people scream about the upholding constitution, and then protest the building of a mosque in New York. A country where "liberal" and "progressive" are thrown around like insults. A country where large sections of the population believe Obama is not a US citizen, that Sarah Palin would be a better president.

Of course there are wonderful, kind, intelligent people all over America, but they are overshadowed by these idiots, who are clearly a growing section of the population.

Nope. Sorry, dude. It's an extremely small minority. You know why you hear about them more than the reasonable people? Because they make for better programming. These idiots overshadow the others, of course, but certainly not because they outnumber them.
