Main Seven: Conklin Groove Tools 7 Rig: boss-mt2/dod-gs30/ Thanked: 0
![]() | Fixed bridge I'm going to be going from a chrome bridge to a black bridge on my Conklin Groove Tools. I have found a few vendors(names I got from the guy at Conklin)and they all wand $85-$100 for a fixed bridge!! I found a different distributor(warmoth), but they only have one size and it's different than my Conklin. But, only $45. Should I have my bridge holes filled, or just lay down the bill for one that will fit the holes that are already there? I'm also looking for black locking tuners, but as you all probably know, people generally only sell them in sets of 6. The Conklin is 4 left 3 right. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. If the baseplates are a different size the old holes might be visible too, which would mean you'd have to refinish the guitar to hide them, and that ain't cheap. Warmoth sell locking tuners singally. |

![]() ![]() | Sorry that I write in the wrong place but I don't want to open a new thread for this... Soo I would like to know, that is there a 7string version of the Wilkinson, vintage, or other kind of non-locking tremolo? Can you give me some links where can I get that kind of thingy? I love "diveing" with my strat's bridge, but I hate locking trems... so I think If I buy an RG7321 in the future, I would put a vintage type of trem on it... bad idea? Thanks! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | tkinstruments.com will sell you sperzels in 7 string sets. and go with the more expensive bridge, if theres anything you don't want to cheap out on, its the bridge. and a 7321 would not be worthy routing out to put a "vintage" trem on, even if they do make them in 7 string versions... |

Elysian raises a good point - it's probably going to cost you maybe a hundred or two to get a 7321 routed out for a trem, and you're probably going to have to do a refinish when it's done, too. Unless you love the tone of basswood (in which case, for what you want in a guitar it's totally worth it), you almost might just be better off buying a replacement body in a tonewood of your choice and either buying a 7321 and selling the body on ebay, or just buying a 7X21 neck to go with your custom body. I haven't totally ruled this out myself, although I'd really prefer a 22-fret maple board. "...and everything under the sun is in tune, but the sun is eclipsed by the moon." | |

The door swings both ways, we could reverse the particle flow through the gate. We'll cross the streams. |
