About 6 months ago, Tim told me that he had plans for 7 string single coils. Hopefully they *will* come to fruition.

Thats cool but something that really NEEDS to get on the market is singlecoilsized humbuckers for 7-strings! Good quality and great sounding ones.

I believe sevenstringj had a stack pickup rewound by Tim. That's another product which I'd really like to see Bare Knuckle introduce.

Why?

In a humbucker, do both of the coils have an influence upon the sound? If so, then that's the only difference that I can think of between a stack and a humbucker.

I guess a customer could always ask Tim to wind a humbucker with as much single coil character as possible.

Stacks and humbucker are different beats. I've heard it explained but I can't remember it well enough to rehash it here. Though a stacked single coil actually gets louder when you coil split it. A humbucker will get quieter. Something to do with the frequency cancellation and such. When I get time I will use my righteous google fu to enlighten you.

It is under consideration for the current Sii-7ex, though Rob would need the pups to size the routes so we'll see how soon the BKP singles become available. I've got an idea for a second Sii-7ex with different woods kicking around though, so if not this one then the second one will definitely be HSS whenever I get around to ordering it

Well, keep in mind it could be a while before these are available, Tim mentioned they were going to do 8 string pickups a good ten months or so before they were released... it's just good to know they're coming (hopefully he makes the zinc base plate option available for the seven string versions as well)

Which got me thinking - is there likely to be a huge difference between "BK rewound" single-coils and "stock BK" single-coils? Do the materials used have a big effect?
