Best Book On Building A Guitar?
Can someone recommend the "best" book on the subject. Is there an industry standard one? Also any books on 7-string and ERG guitars?

It tells you how to build three different kinds of necks (set, bolt on, and neckthrough). Talks about radiusing and fretting too. The author says cambering instead of radiusing. That confused me.

i have the melvyn hiscock book , aswell as one by jim donahue (guitar design) , and one by dennis warning and david raymond (make your own electric guitar and bass) , and one by martin koch (building electric guitars), electronics for musicians book, aswell as a few dvds, dan erlewine fretting dvd series....
stew mac sels a few dvds.... every book, every builder, has their own way of doing things.... theres no good, better, best.... they are all good in their own way ![]() heres one Solidbody guitar building at Stewart-MacDonald http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Books,_plans.html dunno what that ones like though..... i would suggest the martin koch or melvyn hiscock gooks if you can find either... |
