Just made my first purchase at JustStrings.com

I like this bulk strings idea.

$48 shipped bought me 12 sets of the ideal pack for me.

Nobody makes a pack like this, and I've been forced to buy the lighter D'Addario 9-54 pack in the past. D'Addario makes that 10 gauge pack, but I've just never been happy with the higher strings being that thick. With this new pack, yeah, it's only slightly different, but that difference means a lot to me. I love the feel of the 9-46 6-string Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky packs I use on my 6-strings, and I'm anxious to see how this new gauge will feel on the 7-string.

This bulk strings idea is a great one, and I hope JS keeps it going. Anyone else got any feedback on these guys or their bulk string program?

Vince, you use the same gauges I used to use, I've since switched to a .058" low b, though.

Well, I just went to GC to buy some strings earlier today, and the D'Addario 9-54s were $6.99 a pack.

That's the break point for me. I walked out of the store without buying any. I have no problem paying $4 or $5 for a set of strings I'm about 80% happy with, but when they nearly double the price to $7 for an inferior good (one that I'm not completely happy with) I've gotta look elsewhere. That's why I made my order.

That's where I get my optimized D'addarios from, 8.5's thru to 59's...where else can you purchase a fucked up set like that...great service too.

Well I'd go for a 66 but it wouldn't fit my JP's nut!

Their bulk strings are actually surprisingly good, Vince - I've never tried the wounds, but I used to use their unwounds as replacements before Elixer introduced their corrosion-resistant unwounds, and I was quite impressed with them.

It's a great company too. I remember I placed an order with them once, and a few days after I'd expected to see it I was still waiting. Next day at work I get an e-mail saying it'd been returned as undeliverable and asked me to verify my address. Turns out, I'd transposed two digits in my zip code (I'd just moved). They shipped them right back out, no added charge. I think they might have even done express, too.

Obviously you didn't look at the Dean Markley 7-string sets on the website. Cuz they make a CL-7 9-56 set (#2508C). Nickelwounds. Not the blue steels. They're $5.75/pk. But I just ordered/picked up today 24pks@$5 each from a local store. Screw juststrings. Too expensive.
