Iceblade is on a distinguished road
Has anyone ever found out exactly which "high profile string company" manufactures the JS brand of strings for JS? I once asked over on HCF and it was met with a resounding thunderclap of silence.

Later,
Jeff

Does it really matter? They're cheap, and if you like them, I don't think it matters who actually puts 'em out. I can't speak for the wounds, but the unwounds wear quite well sounded just fine to me. Now that Elixer does rust=-resistant unwounds I've stopped buying them, but I used to use them as replacements for unwound Elixers, and they seemed to ladt better than the strings they were replacing.

Everyone who has used them swears they are D'addario, myself included. They don't have the color coded ball ends (since they're bulk), but everything else seems the same.

There really are only three major manufacturers of strings, and they make sets for almost everyone else. D'addario, GHS, and Darco (they make Martin and a host of other acoustic strings). Ernie Ball, Elixir (they only make the coating), Maxima (they only do the plating), Everly, Black Diamond, every set that comes with a guitar manufacturer's name...they're all made by one of the big three.

I'm pretty sure DR strings don't fall into this category.

I have not used juststrings yet, but I will be not too far in the future. Because of my ridiculous custom set I have to use on my fifths tuned Kittythulhu, which I spent ~ $25(USD) at my local GC. So I went to juststrings and checked how much it would be for my FCGDAE progressive tension set

.008
.014
.022
.036
.060
.095 (bass string)

and it was about $20(USD) for the strings themselves, plus like $3 for S&H. Which isn't very much savings for one set. But if I ordered multiple sets it would become progressively cheaper.

Um... I use a .072 for my low B. Needless to say, I hit it pretty hard. I'm thinking I might want to swap for an extended range seven so I don't have to use these bridge cables.
