Heaaalpp! How should I strip my 1527 with Chemicals?

I allready tried 3 different "paint" remover.Didn't work...What kind of Laquer/Material is the clearcoat??
I am going to do a Swirl job ,and want to "supercharge" the Basswood body with epoxy-resin ,and reinforce the neck with carbon since I scalloped it...

Thanx for the helps in advance!

I believe most factory clearcoats these days are polyester.

You're probably going to do better using a heat gun and/or sander.

80 grit to start. once you start getting to the base coat and or primer, youll want to move to 120 grit, then 320. thats what i did

Looking for an Ibanez RG970XL

I used these sandpaper grits to remove Ibanez's insanely thick clear coat.
40-80-120-220-400-600-1200-1500

The last two are there only to make sure the surface is smooth so that the primer is flat.

There's a guy on the Warmoth board who works in industrial chemicals and builds picture perfect "classic" guitars. He posts under Tonar8353, and highly recommends a chemical stripper from Eldorado Solutions ("3031"). Here is the thread:
Stripping a poly finish?

You have to buy a gallon, it can be shipped to you, or a paint or hardware store near you.

I think sanding is a little less toxic. Not everyone wants to handle industrial solvents (and then properly dispose of the by-products).
