So what does the pre-wired 81-7...
have that actually needs to be soldered? I've never swapped out for an EMG so this is all new territory for me. The box contains the pre-wired volume/tone knobs, so do you just disconnect the old pickups and pop in the EMG?

the description for an 81-7 says it comes w/ pre-wired volume/tone controls...this is where I'm confused. What then exactly do you have to solder?

I guess you just have to install them into your guitar, then connect the pickup to the quick-connect wire, btw haven't heard of prewired emg pickups that weren't a set

Oh.
The Volume and Tone pots are soldered together like they should be, you still have to wire up the switch, the pickups themselves, the battery and the output jack. |
