Switch the Evo by a Blackout?

Hey guys. So, i have a ibanez rg7620, and a evo bridge installed. The neck pickup is the stock pickup, because i never use it (basicaly). I was thinking in switch the evo by a blackou. The evo is great for soloing, but for rythm isn't that good. I want a pickup that did rythm/solo well. So, what you say?
cheers

EV07 is god like for rhythm - its insanely tight and clear. How far away from your strings is it? Have you played around with your EQ?

Try backing the pup away a bit - the evo7 is a very hot pup and it needs to be a certain distance away from the strings.

ehhhhhhh... I found that as well when I had my 7620 with an Evo at the bridge. Great ,great lead sound, really bassy rhythm tone. I had a hard time getting it super sharp.
I'm going to go with a Miracle Man in my next one.

Can I be the devil on your shoulder?

I dunno man, the Evo 7 in a 7620 is just about the ultimate pickup for that guitar and the basswood body. I wouldn't change it for anything.

I think the blackout might be what youre looking for. If the evos not cutting enough for you, that may be the way to go. worst case scenario, you end up not liking it, and you sell it. they arent very hard to move around here, they sell quite quickly. theres even a single for sale right now you could buy, so you wouldnt take a loss if you sold it again

Reverse Headstocks or Bust

^Exacly, i don't use the neck pickup. I'm afraid to change the pickup, and like the evo more. I had heard that the blackout give the basswood the tonal caractheristics where basswood fail, is true?
