Question EMG Hz vs. 707 (Form Factor)

Do any of you know offhand if the form factor of the Hz and the 707's are the same?

I have incredible Mastercard-GAS right now for a Damien 7, but where I already own 3 passive pickup 7's and have the Hellraiser tuned to standard, it'd be nice to have another active axe that I could keep detuned.

They use the 707's housing...since the 707 came out first. I think the HZ-7s are modelled after the 707s in sound. I know it'll fit because I've seen lots of ESP 307s with 707s in them.

CL7 is a jewel in the rough
I got EMG hz7's in my LTD. They're really bad(muddy, unclear) with distortion and they're pretty decent for clean stuff. I'd say you should go for 707's or 81-7's.

I prefer Ibanez's stock pups over HZ-7's anyday...its weird how the 6 string HZ's sound amazing and the 7's sound terrible.

The HZs that came in my LTD are the worst pickups I've ever used. My Jackson JS1's pickups sounded above and beyond what they were capable of. Everyone's always dissing the Duncan Designed pups but they're way better than those POS HZ ones...wow those were bad.

Yeah, I've heard the HZ's, I don't care for them either, but that's what comes in the Damian 7. Since the housing is the same, I'll toss 707's in it if the GAS hits me hard enough and I order one.

I actually like the DD's in my LTD.

How much do they go for Chris? Its definitely a metal looking guitar, and of course if you get it you have to give us all a review!

When is the Hellraiser due to show up?

Not sure what the Damien's run, I got the HR from Jason at Drum City for $699. It'll be here Wednesday according to FedEx, I can't fucking wait.

I took the day off of course to "wait for the fedex guy", but that really translates to me not wanting it sitting on my front porch for the day. The tracking number says 7PM, which would totally blow. Usually when I order shit FedEx it shows up around noon, so that'll give me most of the day to forge metal with the thing.

This is only the second brand new guitar I've ever owned - the first being my Schecter C1 that I bought ~3 years ago.

I hate waiting for people to deliver shit...I always end up waiting way longer than what I think I will...In one case I waited a week longer than what I was thinking, and then come to find out that FedEx was trying to deliver the package to my neighbors house, which they were out of town, so no one answered to sign for it, and after 3 attempts and like 5 days in their warehouse, they "returned to sender." They shipped it back the morning I showed up at their warehouse to find out what the hell was going on.
