Q-Tuner Super High Z arrived (56k...you still here?)
Yeah !!!
It's quite a beautifull piece of equipment... ![]() ![]() The package was quite small and the delivery time was long (They had a problem with one of the production machines)...Well 8 weeks of waiting ... Anyways ,before i do some clips for you guys ,i need to get more familiar with it. It's extreme clean sounding...The most percussive tone "ever" you can hear from a Humbucker (In humbucker mode). It's even quiter than my EMG 60. It has 36 pole pieces ,12 in 3 rows.I experimented alot ,and the differences in harmonics ,low midds ,top end etc are extreme. This thing can be tweaked like nothing else. It's not "warm" or "cold"..It doesn't have any Mojo or whatever. This thing is made for "tailor" your own tone i guess...Really transparent..Hi-Fi... For more pics and specs check Q-tuners: World's first neodymium guitar and bass pickups. I will do some Chuggage ,some small lead stuff ,and some clean clips for you guys... Gimme some hours/days.... Cheers all! ![]() ![]() Last edited by daemon barbeque; 06-08-2008 at 01:14 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

I need more time to experiment around ,play with various amps etc...But that thing is really a professional tool.

interesting....have you ever played with any Joe Barden pickups? if so, how would you say the Q-Tuner compares?

My "ex" PU was Seymour Duncan Custom Shop PATB7. i can't even compare them since they are 2 extreme designs. The PATB has somehow "more" harmonics ,where this puppy is more clear and percussive. It's like comparing SD FullShred with Tone Zone.... ![]() But it has some qualities from "BKP Miracle Man"..They are both clear sounding. But MM is much more rawer..It bites more where GL7 roars more...hard to tell. You have to play it yourself ![]() |

Hmmm, I'm a fan of percussive sounds, might try out. I love extreme clarity. How does it perform when the mid row of poles is lowered for a scooped sound?

it doesn't get scooped actually. You get lott's of lower midds ,and loose some Harmonics, dynamics and volume. It's the most important row.
it sounds more scooped when you lower the 3. row (Towards neck)... |

I've been wanting to hear these in a metal context for years now.
