Thom B is a jewel in the rough
Bill Lawrence humbuckers

I recently installed my new pickups in my Gibson Les paul, an L500xl in the bridgeposition and I´m very pleased. I switch between the les paul (drop B) and my 7420 (drop A). We Rehersed this monday and the band was also pleased with the sound. I repaced the old Dimarzio in the neckposition, on the lespaul, with a L500R and I must say ,to my surprise, it sounded great. It´s a bit more distinct and punchy than the old Dimarzio, I play alot of leads with the neckpickup so I´m happy with the sound and the feel of it.
The Dimarzio that was replaced was already in the guitar when I got it, this was 1987 and it had probably been in there since the late seventies. It has served me well but at the end it feedbaked alot and was noisy,so I´m not putting down Dimarzio because I´ve got an Airnorton and a Tonezone in my 7420 and they are great, I just needed to try something different.

I like the sound of Bill Lawrence pickups.

We all need to be adopting green energy sources: solar, wind, alternative fuels. we only have one planet to live on.
