Can anyone else think of something i need for this?

i'm placing an order with stew mac, hopefully by the end of the day, with the complete list of things i need to finish my project guitar.

here's what i'm doing and here's what i think i need. just let me know if you guys can think of something i missed so don't have to re-order anything

+ Sand the headstock/body and refinish with new paint
- finished sanding now i need to paint. i'm ordering this paint and this sealer for the guitar.

+ dye the fretboard ebony
- already have the ebony stain from my last project, so i don't need anymore.

+ sand the back of the neck and refinish with tung-oil
- already sanded it and i have the tung-oil.

+ remove the old inlays and put in new neon green inlays (UV7BK style) - on the way!!
- just removed the old inlays, and waiting for the new ones. the guy mentioned ELMER's epoxy, he said he uses it for installing inlays. i can get it at home depot/lowes. other suggestions???

+ change the old trem for an ibanez trs trem (thanks adam!)
- trem on teh way!

+ rewire the dimarzio blaze bridge/neck with a 3-way toggle and drill the body to install two on/on switches, one to split the neck and one to split the bridge.
- thinking about getting this wiring kit and two of these on/on switches for the splitting.

once that's done i think i just need to string it up and i want to do ADGCFAD so i need some higher gauged strings. no clue what exactly.

anything i'm missing???

yes--you're still missing the idea that this is stain, not paint. it's really another form of dye, like the fretboard dye you're also buying, just dye made for bodies.

so make sure when you read up on instructions or methods, read ones for staining not for painting. if you follow painting instructions with that stain product, it will not turn out right.

as for the wiring and switches, if you don't mind having both pickups split at the same time, then you only need one of those little switches because one switch can split two pickups. you get a little less flexibility--both pickups would have to be either split or full on, not one split and one full. but most people never want only one split, so the single switch splitting both works fine [like on the JS ibanezes]. you can also use a push-pull pot to do it if you'd rather not drill extra holes.

i actually don't mind drilling the holes, because i kind of want to have it how my carvin is, 3 way selector + 2 mini toggles, 1 to split neck and 1 to split bridge

You're doing new inlays, I'm assuming you're re-fretting?

i wasn't planning on doing a re-fret.

is it easier to install new inlays when the frets are pulled out? i'm basically just replacing, almost, the same sized dot inlays.

He's changing his dots for green dots, there's quite a few ways to do that without refretting
edit: meeehh I'm slow tonight

no problem--so long as you know.

since you do want two mini-toggles, you could save some money going to your local Radio Shack and buying SPST single pole / single throw switches instead of ordering those more expensive DPDTs from Stew Mac. SPSTs are all you need just to split one humbucker. if you ever wanted to do series/parallel, you would need one DPDT for each pickup. if you want to do series/split/parallel, then you need the on/on/on DPDT that Stew Mac sells but Radio Shack doesn't.
