Replace my stock tuners [yes or no]

should i replace the stock tuners on my squier stagemaster 7? i'm completely redoing the guitar and i have a new ibanez trem on the way (thanks adam!) so, since it will be a double locking floyd rose style setup, the tuning pegs won't matter as much....right?

Personally, i really like locking tuners. Even with a locking nut, string changes go MUCH quicker with locking tuners. You can get the string up to tension, stretched in and up to pitch way more quickly.

BUT they're not really a necessity once the guitar is tuned up and locked down.

This space intentionally left blank.

yeah, i would go with some locking tuners but i don't really want to spend more than $60 or so for tuners.

I wouldn't bother, if its going to be locked and you'll have the fine tuners. That money could be spent on better pickups or any other upgrades you'd want.

If you're on a budget, there's probably no point, because $60 tuners likely won't be any better than the stock units.

Use the money saved as cash in your pocket or get some other upgrades. Like updated electronics (coil splitting etc).

In any language that you learn to speak -- love is twisted and defined as weak

awesome dudes!!! this is what i was thinking.

actually, i think i'm going to buy 2 mini toggle on/off switches and drill two holes in the body, maybe 3 to do one switch to split the bridge blaze and one switch to split the neck blaze...possibly the 3rd switch for a phase inverter. i can't wait to finish this thing!!
