Question Replacement pickups for Ibanez S7320

Im seriously considering buying the S7320, ive heard great things about it, however ive also seen a lot of posts saying its pickups have to be replaced.

I know alot of ppl on here own s7320s..... So what did you replace the stock pups with? Or if you are knowledgeable, what would you personally replace the pups with? I need to decide what pickups to buy so im getting some opinions, Im into METAL and shredding
so let me know what pickups you would put in an s7320

I personally love the evo7 in mahogany, but felt like something not as hot, so i threw dual air nortons in mine. the evo7+air norton is a good combo

Do you have a preference in pickups brands? Dimarzio, Seymour Duncans, BareKnuckles...
I'd recommend some specs reading if you don't know, just to get a rough idea.

I've made this handy flow chart to see if you need to change your S7320 pickups:

All kidding aside, you'll want to change them. If you like actives, i strongly suggest blackouts. Otherwise, i hear the JB sounds good in the bridge, and you can never go wrong with Air Nortons in the neck.

If i have to get out of my vehicle, I'll fill this whole street full of uppercut!

If you don't leave it plugged in when you're not using it... About a year or so, unless you play a lot.

Also, look into the Seymour Duncan blackouts, they're better than the EMGs and they make them in a standard housing so you don't have to butcher the guitar. Although, with an S... You may have to make the cavities deeper, but it beats having to hack wider holes.

Actually, i got them to fit in the S7 just fine. i literally had to like, rub the sides of the ears of the cavity for like 2 seconds, and they fit that way. depth was solved really easily. If you look at the bottom of the blackouts, the bottom cover to the pup curves inward. Theres enough room there thats just the 2 covers coming together, that without ever breaking through to the internals of the pickup, you can dremel a spot for the wire to pass out the side instead of just having to bump under it, which allows enough lowering to be installed properly without shimming the neck/raising the bridge

I too prefer the blackouts to the standard emg's (817/707)
If you dont leave it plugged in, the battery lasts forever practically duder

Scali will become famous soon enough
I didn't replace them, I think the stock pickups are excellent. In fact, I only replaced the stock pickups in my RG570CT after one of them died... but I ended up taking out the DiMarzio's again and making it stock, because I actually preferred the stock pickups in that guitar.
If you want that EMG-sound, then yes, you'll need to replace them, because no passive pickup will give you that sound... But other than that I think the stock pickups are fine quality and they are well-matched for the guitar, giving a good range of tones.
