Truss rod question

okay i've heard different things from different sources. some say to lower the neck (create backbow) you turn the rod clockwise, but then i've read elsewhere that you turn it counter-clockwise. i have a jackson dk7, and the truss rod is accessed at the headstock with a socket-wrench type tool (not an allan wrench). so which way should i turn it? i'm trying to get the strings closer to the fretboard w/o buzz.

Lefty loosey, righty tighty
a looser nut makes for more bow. Counter clockwise loosens it, and Clockwise tightens the nut, just like 99% of screws.

As far as the action adjustment, check your relief first (fret 1 and 24, check around fret 8, and then fret 1 and 16 and check around fret 6). you want like a bit under 2 mm on the bass side, like 1.5mm on the treble side. After that, everything should be adjusted on the bridge to get it close. from there, finetune it all

Reverse Headstocks or Bust

ALL HEIL THE ADMINISHREDDER!

Just like to add that this is when you are looking down at the bridge from the headstock. Left going towards the High e string and righty being towards the low E string. Just thought I would clarify.
