![]() | i made the as descriptive as i know how, i'm new to all this lol and i'll just write the title of my posts from now on lower case letters..thanks again everybody and i'll keep my progress posted so in the future hopefully it will help someone else with the same problem as i am having...peace everybody and have good one... oh yeah i'm thinking of putting a new jack in also..my cousin told me that if i put a capacitor inline with the jack input it might solve my problems i guess it want hurt to try it. THe following will help: 1) Make sure the guitar is grounded, ie, there is normally a ground wire that goes to a screw into the wood of the guitar somewhere (as a common ground point) 2) Get the cavity painted with shield paint, and see if the cavity covers have shielding on them as well 3) There should be a ground wire running to the bridge. On a floyd it'll be a wire soldered to the spring claw, on fixed bridge it should run to the bridge somehow. Also, don't put a capcitor inline, all it is going to do is act like a filter for your guitar. It'll remove any DC component from the signal, but at the same time it will act as a low pass filter, so it will probably not be what you want to happen. |
