![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Wiring questions (pots, pick-ups, switches) Wiring Diagram so... take that, and just throw into the chain a mini toggle between the neck pick-up and the selector switch to split the coils, and you have the wiring set-up i just did to my gibson V. See the top left diagram for how i did the mini toggle here: ½ºÄð¹ÂÁ÷ÀÔ´Ï´Ù. °í¸¿½À´Ï´Ù! Or.... as, in the chain outlined below, my pick up signals join at the 3-way, where they then hit the tone, then volume, then output. neck pu > mini toggle > 3-way > fender no-load tone pot > 1m vol pot > output bridge pu >--------------^ The tone pot seems to be "on" all the time, and in one setting. in the "10" position, it's supposed to be off and out of the chain... thus giving you a bright tone with all your highs... then at 9-1, it should get noticeably darker (it's a 250k pot). It seems like it's on at 7-8 all the time. I don't hear ANY change when the pot engages from 10 to 9 (a "click" felt by the fingers), and when i get to 1, when it should be darker than dirt, i have the same tone as on 10. Did i do something wrong? I put the capacitor in there and everything. I don't get it. my ground wire lay-out differs slightly, from the seymour diagram... i'm missing the ground wire connecting my two pots, and i have the ground wire off the 3-way going into the output sleeve (and the out put sleeve isn't grounded on a pot, like it is in the diagram). Is every individual item in my signal chain supposed to be individually grounded straight to a pot? does this have anything to do with my tone pot not working at all? |
