Anyone ever opened one up and checked out the inside before?

why would you want to? itd probably ruin the pickup, so youre basically asking if anyone wants to THROW away 100 beans, lol.

FWIW, they way they are constructed, its a humbucker with double bar coils, and ceramic magnets, pretty much like a standard pickup just with the bars. think something that looks alot like an x2n. then put it in the casing, add a preamp, and fill it with epoxy

It'd be cool if you could just remove them from the housing and install them that way. No routing and whatnot

now that you mention that, I'm wondering if Emg will be considering making a standard sized 707 to compete with the blackouts, as a lot of people (im guessing) would go with the blackouts because it's more convenient (meaning less work, time and money)

its doubtful, but just a thought
