Actives abruptly stopped working in Loomis

My Blackout and EMG yielded no sound when I plugged in this morning. They sounded great at practice last night.

When I pulled out the battery, I noticed it was bloated, like it had imploded. I'm wondering if the battery is defective and somehow fried my pickups.

Naturally, I'm freakin out. Any thoughts or help is appreciated.

Thanks.

And the pickups are still dead? If so, it sounds like the exploded battery screwed something up...

You pull the cavity control cover yet? There's no way it wrecked both pickups (highly unlikely, anyway), so it's gotta be something downstream in the signal path (inside the guitar)... hmmm...

Randy was right. After closer examination, the lead wire from the input jacket was the problem. Inside the jack, the wire randomly broke. It was hard to tell at first, cuz it was cut slightly in the hole going to the control cavity. Very odd.

Lesson learned: check and double check on a detailed level every connection before you spend hours undoing every connection to isolate an elctronics problem (and end up embarrassing yourself).

Thanks.

sometimes the wires in there are in a bad place and the jack interacts with them
