My local GC now has a "Luthier Corner"

And what a Luthier Corner, too! They did away with the Loud Lounge, and stuck a kid in there with a price list. So I asked how much he charges for a setup.
Response: "That's when you tune the strings, right?"

Tacoma, Wa has one on site, but I've heard terrible feedback about him.

Everyone in this area takes their stuff to Mike Lull in Bellevue, Wa.

Great. Now they'll fuck up your own guitar, as well as the ones for sale.

The "Loud Lounge" was a great idea. How the hell are you supposed to evaluate a tube amp there anymore? Most of 'em don't sound that great below ear-splitting volume unless you use a Hot Plate.

i agree, as soon as you turn up the volume they come over and tell you to turn down, unless your planning on picking something up that day, because your disturbing people in GC !! i mean its guitar center what the fuck, if our that gay about it get another job, but before you can turn the amps up ou have to find a half decent one that actually works, and if it doesn't then you deal with a sales rep who questions if you broke it,

if you can't tell I'm not too fond of GC
