Question Dumb question about Kahlers

I'm gonna be putting together a guitar in the near future and I'm pretty sure I want a Kahler on it. I've played a couple guitars with Kahlers on them in the past and thought they were pretty nice.

I'm just wondering if you can do this one stupid trick on 'em like you can with a Floyd style trem, you know the one where you hit a hamonic and then either flick the bar just right or depress it and slide your hand off the end of it so the bridge slaps back into position and it makes this chirping sound like brbrbrbrbrbr. If that makes any sense and if anybody knows if this works on a Kahler or not, let me know.

Thanks

You can't. Kahlers do not "Flutter."

Somewhere on YouTube a guy does a pretty comprehensive three-part comparison between Floyds and Kahlers... I'd recommend watching it.

Not entirely true.

Any floating trem will flutter. Just nothing flutters quite like a dialed-in Floyd.

the flutter effect is WAY more subtle on a Kahler, but it is there.

^ Yeah, its more of a "vibrate", as opposed to a "flutter".

Yeah, Kahler's can flutter but the way its designed its not as dramatic as a Floyd. I still prefer Kahlers because of their smoother feel.

I'm assuming he's going to want to mass produce these rack pies, and why not? I love racks, I love pies, so put them together and you have pie covered titties. - JJ

i stick by my arguement that the ZR is the best of both worlds. flutters and just feels like a floyd, but smooth like a kahler

I need to try the ZR. I never liked Kahlers but it's been a long time since playing on one.

Thanks for the input everyone.

I'd really like to put a Kahler on a guitar because they feel so much more solid when palm muting and there seems to be less twang. The flutter thing isn't a huge deal but it's pretty much written into one of my leads so that sucks if I build a guitar and I can't do that anymore.

Is there a 7 string ZR?
