EMG 707's squealing...Any ideas?

When I had my rig up to full volume with my Loomis, I notice the 707's squeal a bit. I thought the pickup was too high for my tastes, so I lowered it and its better but still does it some. I can't lower the pickup anymore, so I am almost out of ideas.

The odd thing is, I have 2 6 strings with EMG 85's in the bridge. I do not have this issue with those guitars, but they are also 18v modded. I have heard that the 707's are hotter than the 85's, but that much hotter?

I need to fix this by Friday, any thoughts? Is something wrong with the pickup/wiring? Will the 18v mod possibly help this by increasing the headroom? Will I simply need to make separate patches for this guitar because its loaded with 707's and they are indeed that hot?

floyd rose ya? trying putting a small bit of cloth of loads of thick tape over the springs in the back
i use half an old wrist band i dont use anymore
helps massvily i find

you could also try the dimebag thing where u put some electric tape over the strings just after the nut on the headstock

turn down the gain a small bit?
or just turn your volume down
iv never needed to gig with my amp over 4/10

Which would make sense, but why just with 707's and not other EMGz?

Sqeeling is a general term. Does it sustain? Springs or string behind the nut will ring for a little bit, but not sustain. Could be a bad pickup. Does it happen on both pickups? Could also be a bad powertube.

No tubes here, and it doesn't happen on the neck pickup. If I am palm muting or anything I get noise and feedback at my gigging/practice volume. Its like no matter what I do, I can't silence the noise. Like I said before, lowering it made it better, but it still happens.

I kinda have that too with my 707s. But I find I can really reduce it with proper left and right hand muting. I guess this is where blackouts claim to be quieter.

What happens when you touch the volume knob when it happens? Sometimes that silences it which would mean there is an improper ground somewhere.
