So I finally got around to rewiring my dinky. the pots in it were shot, and i couldn't remember for the life of me remember how to wire my megaswitch, but I figured that out. After getting all that set up and then playing on it last night,I realized why this is my favorite 6er, but when i went to go tweak the set up, I noticed my frets!

Long story short, 1-15 are almost completely flat, and from 15-24 the frets on the high pitched side are flat. I mean noticeably so too, like about 1/4-1/3 of the frets are worn. I don't want to sink too much into this guitar, as it isn't an expensive axe, but it does have a certain vibe I can't find in any other guitar, even dinkys of the same era (mid 90's I think. I bought it used and never could figure out the specific model.)

Opinions? option? Questions? Comments? etc?

I think you might still be able to get away with a recrown, if youve never had it recrowned before. Some pics would help though

Btw, if a guitar has that groove, its worth putting money into it, regardless of its initial value. when you find a guitar you sync up with, dont let the cost of a refret or something mess that up

take it to your local tech and ask him what he'd do. then let him do it.

For some reason there is not much in the way of techs in my city. There are a few local shops I trust that have some connections, so I will have to ask them.

There have been no recrownings before that I know of. As I mentioned before, I bought it used. I doubt it though, it had a set of crappy BCR stock pups in it at the time.

I'll try and get some pics by the end of the week. I'm going out of town to see Converge and a few other bands tomorrow, but thursday should be possible.
