![]() The 6-string X2N in my flying V sounds awesome, and aside from not being the same shape would probably sound about the same because of how thin the S is compared to the weird body mass of the V. I think it would be pretty awesome in there. |

he's talking about the JB7... completely different pickup compared to an old 6er JB imo. FWIW, the JB and JB7 sound best in alder/ maple neck-thrus to my ears. |

True, but im getting at where it gets the great snarly reputation from.

...something I plan on doing at some point.
I'll admit the bass is tough to dial in, but it and a good mesa is like instant Tool, which IMO is a good thing. Just, not for Stitch, I bet. ![]()

Just get the damn Blackouts, Stitchy! They look fine! I personally think they look a lot better than DiMarzios with black pole pieces anyway :P
I'd say either an Evo 7 or maybe a Blaze Custom. They're both really articulate and pretty high output. They're kind of similar, except that the BC sacrifices some of that icepick cutting power and a little bit of the output (it's still pretty hot, though) in exchange for a warmer, fuller sound. The BC balances beautifully with an AN7 in the neck, too. The Evo is probably a lot closer to an active type tone, though.
