The 6-string X2N in my flying V sounds awesome, and aside from not being the same shape would probably sound about the same because of how thin the S is compared to the weird body mass of the V. I think it would be pretty awesome in there.

he's talking about the JB7... completely different pickup compared to an old 6er JB imo.

FWIW, the JB and JB7 sound best in alder/ maple neck-thrus to my ears.

...something I plan on doing at some point.

I'll admit the bass is tough to dial in, but it and a good mesa is like instant Tool, which IMO is a good thing. Just, not for Stitch, I bet.

Just get the damn Blackouts, Stitchy! They look fine! I personally think they look a lot better than DiMarzios with black pole pieces anyway :P

I'd say either an Evo 7 or maybe a Blaze Custom. They're both really articulate and pretty high output. They're kind of similar, except that the BC sacrifices some of that icepick cutting power and a little bit of the output (it's still pretty hot, though) in exchange for a warmer, fuller sound. The BC balances beautifully with an AN7 in the neck, too. The Evo is probably a lot closer to an active type tone, though.
