Cleanest/Articulate 6-string Humbuckers

Just musing about the fact that
A) strats are awesome
B) my hollowbody lacks individual note definition in chords.

obviously i'm not gonna get a hollowbody to sound like a strat. far from my goal. But i was wondering what humbuckers people thought had amazingly articulate cleans that i might consider dropping in this guitar to balance out the fatness. Or what humbuckers have really strat-like split coil or parallel tones. I DO love the fatness in the neck position for distorted leads - absolutely sings, even though its a full hollow.
Was looking at the dimarzio bluesbucker, as its essentially a P-90 that cancels 60 cycle hum, but i didn't know what else was out there.

i did not know they exist. thanks!

i haven't had any real time playing on a P-90 equipped guitar cept a gibson BFG and didn't care for it much in the neck - but that's with little tweaking or a familiar amp to work with. How do they sound in comparison to strat style single coils?

after playing around quite i bit i've found that it's mostly the wound strings that sound really muddy and inarticulate - the plain strings really do sparkle with the amp's treble up. I guess i'm wanting a woodier kinda sound for the lower strings. More hollow and percussive.

are you looking for a bridge or neck pickup?

if it's a neck, the Dimarzio Humbucker From Hell is what you want. clearest, most articulate pickup you'll find, but still has plenty of warmth, and has one of the most amazing, almost acoustic like clean sounds.

schwing!
i was thinking bridge pickup or both.. I kinda flip-flop on it, because the neck pickup is essentially too muddy to play any kind of rhythm/chordal things on, but with a decent amount of gain, it absolutely SINGS with this rich, fat tone. I'm afraid if i put a cleaner pickup in the neck, it'll lose that - so i was gonna start w/ the bridge pickup, as its a good balance of bright and full for rhythm.
But from the description you gave me, that sounds fuckin fantastic. I may just buy one and try it in both positions. Thanks

anybody ever tried the Eric Johnson customs? They sound very similar to the Humbucker From Hell - glassy, super clean strat-like humbuckers, but lower output. Not sure which one to go with.

i used the HBH in the neck of my RG550 on the solo in the song "the day god died" (solo starts at 4:05) on my soundclick page, you can at least hear what it sounds like in that guitar with a fuckload of gain ...

TemjinStrife is a jewel in the rough
SD Jazz is similar to the HBH, but smoother, and LOVES mahogany and maple.

Bridge-wise, I actually like the GFS Bigmouth. It's got some grind, but it splits very nicely for being a below-$40 pickup.

EMGs and other actves are of course very articulate, but most likely not what you're looking for.

Also, SD's new P90/rail things sounded pretty good. Can't remember what they're called though.

I got the bridge EJ in my ibby sa...
Incredible pickup, medium output

they indeed are strat like, but they also got some basses...and they have got an incredible individual note definition, even with extreme amounts of distortion...
