Annoying Feedbacks

Hey!

I just got myself a black/green UV7BK, i love that guitar to death, but the pickups are killing me. I have this very crappy H&K Warp7 and 120W Line6 Spider, but when i play my UV with distortion at high volumes, it starts making all these annoying feedbacks and squeeks.... My 2027 with dimarzios plays nicely with those, so I wondered what tha hell i suppost to do with my problem? I really don't have the money to buy any "hush-hush" pedals or anything... Should i just turn the gain down? If i do so, it sucks balls, because it's not crunchy enought....

Help meeee!!

...What's that low string for?

How close to the strings are the pickups?

From the BKP basic Installation instructions

Quote:
Adjusting the height of the pickup is essential to obtain the best sound and volume balance with other pickups on the guitar. More volume and power are present closer to the strings while the pickup will sound cleaner further away but have less output.
Start by adjusting the bridge pickup close to the strings whilst baring across the strings at the highest fret of the guitar. Adjust the pickup awy from the strings until no overtones or false harmonics are heard and the best balance of power and clarity is achieved.
Once the bridge pickup is adjusted for maximum performance the other pickups on the guitar can be adjusted by ear to gain optimum volume balance.

Ehhhhh, i had my blaze in my carvin at like 1.9 or something, and it wasnt squealing or anything

Are your pickup and control cavities properly shielded? Are all of your wiring connections correct, and without cold joints? Something else is seemingly wrong imo. It could be the pickup height, but i doubt it

It could well be that the pickups have gone microphonic. My neck pickup in my PWH has done that, and hence I need to get it wax potted. If it's a high pitched squeal that appears when you mute the strings, or in between noes, then it's microphonics, and all you'll need to do is wax pot them (or get someone to do it for you).

Just saw, it's a 91, so after 17 years I wouldn't be surprised if it is the pickups going microphonic. It's an easy fix, look at projectguitar.com it tells you how to do it on there
