i can think of two things.

wire it up like a stock RG4 but with no middle single. that would give you:
1: neck, full
2: neck, coil-split
3: nothing
4: bridge, coil-split
5: bridge, full

or check guitarnuts.com for diagrams where they wire the series link to the neck switch tab. they might have a better option for two humbuckers using a strat-style 5-way.

Hmm only problem I forsee with that... The humbuckers that came with it are 2-conductor pickups and the wiring diagram is drawn up accordingly.

So now I need a wiring diagram for two 4-conductor humbuckers that gives the options detailed above.

If anyone has any idea how to wire my guitar in this manner with two four-conductor dimarzio pickups:

1: neck, full
2: neck, coil-split
3: nothing
4: bridge, coil-split
5: bridge, full

Please help me! Much rep to a diagram-giver

you can use the diagram for any Ibanez H/S/H guitar, just leaving out the middle single, and you will get those combinations. for a H/S/H diagram using DiMarzio wire colors, i'd recommend the diagram for a JEM or UV. all the Ibanez diagrams are downloadable from their website.

yes, it is a different switch. it has nothing to do with GC; all the Ibanez two-humbucker guitars with 5-way switches use a non-standard 5-way. see how in that diagram it's labeled "SC Switch"? that is the special Ibanez 5-way for use with two humbuckers, first used on the SC model guitars. it has different internal contacts than a standard strat-style 5-way.
you can't get the two-humbucker coil combinations shown in the 7520 or 7321 wiring dragrams from a standard 5-way like the one in your RG4. you either need this custom Ibanez switch or a 24-pole superswitch and lots of wire jumpers.
i really don't see how that standart 5 way switch that ibanez uses for most of their models is diffferent from what Xan has.
if you open Xan's switch and an ibby standard one you will see it is double switch it has 1,2,3,4 that get connected and 5,6,7,8 that get connected but they are not connected between them selfs. standard. and its very possible to do with it 2 humbuckers its much trickier to get rid of hum if you would also add single coil this why they have this ibby special or the fender style switches.
what Jem, and fender style switch has is 24 pins basicle 4 individual systems controlled by 1 trigger. its like 2 standard 5 way switches in one.
it is possible to connect 2 humbuckers on standart 8 pinns switch
if you notice on any other ibby rg diagram it has 3 wires from pickup
one bare one white one red i think white is the end of north pole and red is coils tap
and the beginning of the south pol is weired inside the pup to the shielding wire.
(Scott, i am just explaining to those who didn't/ don't know that)
what that means is that instead of letting you the option of playing with possible configurations they have limited you with humbucker or single coil options.
look at the rg1527 diagram 2 humbuckers with the same effect as the rg7321 has and much easier on 8 pins diagram.
another thing, Xan, why you say js1000 was very close to your old configuration it is very different from all the other diagrams we are discussing.

wire it exactly like the 7321 dude. the ONLY difference in wiring should be that you use the green wire instead of a blue one

ruins, ibby 5 ways are different than most. They dont use a standard switching schematic, its a bit cheaper to produce the switch they use.

hmmmmm then i guess the 5 way switch that i have cheked from rg 350dx year 99 or maybe 00 was fucked up. this doesn't make any sense to me because the switch was exactly the same as Xan's just with green silicon plate. the owner of that guitar is virtuoso but TOTAL n00b in everything concerns besides playing guitar.there was no way he ever took it to guitar tech nor switched the switch him self.

and another reason is i know that i wasn't drunk the other day and i know what i saw when i opened it up
any way i agree with you Max that the 7321 diagram would be good choice.

Yeah, i think they started using the new switches consistantly around 01 or 02 maybe. Im not too sure on that one though.
