Oh yea. I need a new soldering iron... and it seems the people who originally assembled the electronics used a much higher wattage soldering iron/solder. Everything is connected, however.

Picture soon.

What a Djentleman!

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....
the switch looks fine like a standard one, your soldering is also quite good.
ok here is what i would suggest
-make exact diagram of what you soldered there no mater
if you think that you did it wrong just make another one.
-now unsolder all the wires from the switch.
-solder according to the ibby diagram just one pickup
-check if just that pickup works correct, if yes solder the other one if not
we will have to think of something else

yes, it is a different switch. it has nothing to do with GC; all the Ibanez two-humbucker guitars with 5-way switches use a non-standard 5-way. see how in that diagram it's labeled "SC Switch"? that is the special Ibanez 5-way for use with two humbuckers, first used on the SC model guitars. it has different internal contacts than a standard strat-style 5-way.

you can't get the two-humbucker coil combinations shown in the 7520 or 7321 wiring dragrams from a standard 5-way like the one in your RG4. you either need this custom Ibanez switch or a 24-pole superswitch and lots of wire jumpers.

So what can I do with what I have?
