They stay in tune great, but I don't like not having options. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I have a regular string adaptor on my Steinberger so it can use any strings, however string breakage on the high E is definitely a problem on Steinbergers & Kahlers. The high E strings easily break at the ball-ends. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | "Speedloader" and non-locking trems are different beasts. My JP7's trem is a lot like most other two-point fulcrum non-locking trems in that the ball ends are fed through the back and don't lock. If the bridge is of good quality and well-designed, it can be very stable if paired with a properly-cut graphite nut and locking tuners. This space intentionally left blank. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | 99% of the single-locking Floyd copies are garbage, IMO. Even the cheapy-cheap guitars don't stoop this low anymore(ie, RG270s used to come with a single-locker). The Floyd Rose Speedloader is completely different animal. |

![]() ![]() | I have a early Kahler fulcrum Bridge and it's sweeeeet. It eliminated my issues with Trems like floyd rose but still stays right in tune. |

The sellers push the fast string change thing, because they'd never be able to sell the damn things otherwise, IMO. BTW, for those of you unsure of what's being discussed: Floyd Rose "Fastloader" locking Tremolo System BTW: "Solid Machined Steel"? Yeah, okay, somehow I don't believe him. Mainly because the only trem outside an OFR with a solid steel baseplate is Gotoh's copy. | |

![]() | I had ...HAD a single locking speed loader on one of my Kramers a few years back. It was a Floyd Rose and the thing sucked ass. In order to keep even remotely close in tune, the point of the saddle where the string touches needed to be lubed heavily and even then it was a crap shoot. I ended up just pitching it in the trash bin...... |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The speedloaders on the NJ BC Richs were fantastic bits of kit. Work fantastically, smoothly, but as noodles so aptly pointed out, you really are limited to 9's or 10's, and that isn't any choice for anyone. I don't see why they bother with this - one allen key and a pair of wire cutters and you can restring a Floyd Rose. It takes me about 5 minutes lonegr to set up and restring a Floyd compared to a Strat or Les Paul. ![]() |
