Help with new pickup for V

So I'm doing an overhaul on my Epiphone Goth Flying V and I'm turning it into a one pickup guitar ( for the kill switch!!). I like the pickup that's in the guitar, it has a scooped kind of quality and I'd like to change it to something better, but similar to that sound. Anyone have any ideas? Active pickups aren't my thing and due to the pickgaurd being the only way to get into the guitar, they aren't really and option.

If I was going to give it a second pickup I'd opt for a dimarzio super distortion single coil or the tone zone single coil, but seeing as though my Draco, and the soon to come draco, have nice neck pickups, I'll use the Goth V as a 1 pickup thing, which I run it as anyways. If nothing else I'll throw a Rockfield Fatass in there...I love that pickup..but I'm looking for something with good treble, not really aggressive mids, and a fair amount of lows, not too heavy

Dimarzio X2N although my V has a trem, is a bolt-on and a maple neck...so it would be a bit brighter than yours is.

trust me, the X2N is right up your alley, DT . and it's a way more versatile pickup than it's given credit for. it's actually my pickup of choice at the moment. i took a break from it for about a year, but i've just recently come to realize again how truly awesome it is . and yes, i even like the clean sounds i get from it.

Yeah, X2N for the win man! Or whenever that new D-Activator X comes out, give that a try, it looks pretty interesting.

I'm assuming he's going to want to mass produce these rack pies, and why not? I love racks, I love pies, so put them together and you have pie covered titties. - JJ

I would agree with this but if your set on 1 pickup than like everyone else has said, you'd love the X2N.

X2Ns rule. One thing that does piss me off is that I want a green one... they don't come in green though, but the D-Activator X is going to come in green, and camo (why?) Why not the normal X2N?!?!! (Jason is irritated as he wants to puts green pups and strings on his SLSMG)
