ok, so my buddy got a kent armstrong motherbucker for his les paul, and i´ve wired it up and stuff, but it´s not working properly... i´ve wired the two humbuckers on there as to separate humbuckers, on two separate volume knobs, and then both lead to the bridge position on the 3-way switch.

both humbuckers are 4-conductor, and i followed the instructions for 4-conducter humbuckers that came with it. problem is, there was no other instructions for it!

so what i did, was that i wired the output of one volume knob to the output of the other, hoping it wouldn´t matter, but now it sounds like goopy mud, with loooow output, and it only makes any sound when both volume knobs are up...

now, i emailed the guys at kent armstrong, and got this:

Hi,

Kent says:

Make sure the PU lives go to the middle contact on the volumes then you can connect each volumes outs to the 3 way.

Personally I would put in a 5 way or even a super 5 way for max effect.

now, WHAT does he mean by that? any educated guesses? :P

btw, what i´ve done to get full-out humbucker mode, is to solder and tape off the red and green wires, white and bare goes to ground, and black goes to volume knob...
