Pickup Recommendation

This is my first post, and I'm sure you guys are sick of these threads, but I need a replacement pickup.

I have an Ibanez 7621, and replaced the bridge pickup like 5 years ago with a Duncan Invader, but I've recently decided I don't like the sound anymore. It's a little too muddy and is way to noisy for recording.

Here's what I'm looking for:

-sound: Meshuggah, Fear Factory, tight low-end, also something that'll be good a for a good lead sound with good high's and mids
-low noise

What I don't want:
-to spend much over $100
-I don't really like active pickups

A couple that I've considered are the D-Activator, Evolution, Tone Zone, but any other recommendations would be great.

I'd appreciate any help
Thanks,
Arthur

Sorry dude but there are a bazillion threads (a lot of which I've posted in) about this subject.

If you use the search function I'm sure you will find the necessary in depth recommendations.

Anyway, I would add the Blaze Custom to that list. It's a very good high powered pickup but might be a bit muddy depending on the amp but I use it through my PODxt Live and it sounds amazing.

The DiMarzio Evolution 7. I guarantee you'll love it. Guaran-fucking-tee. Everything you're describing you're looking for, it delivers in spades. The D-Activator would work too but the Evolution has more character. The Blaze Custom or Tone Zone wouldn't be a good choice for what you're going for.

PS: The Invader isn't noisy at all, if you found yours was, it's likely not wired right or it's just your amp. The Invader is a great sounding pickup but not in basswood, it's better suited for brighter guitars (poplar, alder, maple, etc).

EDIT: Ah you use a 5150 II, that explains the noise issue. Hopefully you use a noisegate in front of the amp?

Forget about the Tone Zone 7 by the way. Trust me on this...

one more question:

I've read some good things about the Seymour Duncan Blackouts. Anyone know if you can buy just the bridge pickup, and if so, where?

true, but the more I read about the blackouts the more I like. EMG's always sounded a bit sterile to me, but from what I read I may like these.

I'd recommend trying DiMarzios first. Blackouts won't fit in the RG7621 without doing a little modification I believe.
