New 8 string pickups

Ok to be honest i cant fucking stand the 707s and 808s. Just too bassy for my taste compared to the 81-7 i have on my 607. Now since the 808s are active are there any replacements for these? I highly doubt it other than Blackouts but those arent even out lol. But as far as anything else goes, what other pickups are there out there for 8 strings other than Lundgrens? Ive never really looked into them and dont know where to start other than here. Im looking to replace the 808s in my Rg2228 or possibly wait for the SC608 and do it them, but either way im looking to get rid of them. Any suggestions?

Direct replacement for 808 - there is no such production pickup

Bareknuckle make 8 string pickups too. The 808s are a different size though.

There are some limited options, but they're all expensive. Duncan custom shop can make 8s blackout sets for about $500. They'll make passive 8s but it's the custom shop so they'd be more than $170 each. Bareknuckles are available, but for Americans they would be similarly priced to the Duncans. And Lundgrens are $200 each.

Unless you want EMG Bass 40HZ's or the 40DC's, 40P5's, 40J's, 40 CS's or 40TW's(coil tappable)

Such pain, I must help...deepen it

Well yeah i already knew there werent any direct replacements but i was mainly wondering about the other options. I guess my only option would be custom blackout 8s but not sure if its really worth it. And Lundgrens well...would be nice but isnt it a bitch to go from active to passive?

You could probably get away with using a Bare Knuckle 8 and just get a custom pickring made

you´d have to create a ground to the bridge if you were to convert it to passive. not that it´s a big deal, but with an 8 string guitar, people are usually scared of drilling it :P
