Find me a wiring diagram PLZ!
Okay so, just assume that I'm fucking retarded when it comes to installing pickups. I've done it twice before so I've got some experience. Anyway, here's what I'm looking for. A wiring diagram that has two volumes, a tone and a three way selector. The pickups are X2N and Tone Zone fyi. I want the diagram to be where bridge and neck positions are series, and the middle is split coil parallel.
If you can find this, THANKS!!!! |

I think this is it. I have one for a 5-way switch if you want it. |

Okay, there *are* some basic guidelines to follow if you don't want to have to rely on diagrams...
First, with the exception of parallel and coil-split modes, you're going to have the black and white wires on DiMarzios soldered together and taped off. Second, you will always have a 'hot' and a 'ground' wire from one pickup (for DiMarzios, the red wire is hot and the green wire is ground): the 'hot' will go to knobs and selectors, the grounds (along with the little upside-down-pine-tree symbols on the schematic that represent the 'ground' connection from the pots and the output jack) will eventually be all connected together. Third, if you want two of a knob (two volumes or two tones) or a knob only applying to one pickup, you wire it after the pickup but BEFORE the selector switch; if you want one knob applied to all pickups you wire it AFTER the selector switch. Then, if you want two volumes and a tone, you have Neck -> Neck Volume -> Switch Bridge -> Bridge Volume -> Switch Switch-> Tone -> Output Finally, the tip of the output socket will always be connected to the 'hot' from whatever the 'last' control would be (in your case, the tone) and the sleeve will always be connected to ground. you cant do what you are talking about you either have to have it wired pickup>switch>volume>tone where the coil taps are apart of the main switch. otherwise you will have to wire each pickup like this pickup>mini toggle (for coil tap)>volume>3-way switch>tone.

Okay, fun stuff here, since I didn't read the post carefully enough.
I don't know what switch you're using so I can't do much directly, but I would recommend going by http://www.dimarzio.com/media/diagrams/D.pdf if you can get that kind of switch. For the knobs... pull out the volume knob in that diagram and wire up a volume knob for each pickup before the switch. It's really not that complicated; all you're doing is putting one volume control on each (using the red and green wire from each pickup - both single-coil and humbucking modes use them as 'hot' and 'ground' respectively) before the switch, then going to the switch, and finally going tone.
