Tuning locks
how do u replace string if the metal things are where the strings go through? sprry for my stupidity i dont have one

There's usually a knob on the back of the tuner that you turn to lower the lock in the post, put the string through, then tighten down to lock the string in place. This is how Schallers and Sperzels work, some others are different(Gotoh, IIRC).
