Switching between 9 volts, and 18 volts?
So Im looking at getting a "custom" rondo built axe (possibly the Reaper shape), and I want to be able to use this guitar to do samples for active pickups (like audio samples and re-amp samples for EMGs, 707, 81-7, the Bass series pickups, and also the SD BLackouts). I would like to be able to do samples with 9 and 18 volts for emgs, as well as blackouts.
The issues are, I dont want to have to run the batteries in the control cavity, so I have already speced out having a tandem battery compartment routed. I dont want to have to splice wires/add wires, or "redneck" (yank for you UK folk) rig this up. I would like to be able to either have a switch installed or some sort of clever way to bypass the second battery. My solutions, would be something along the lines of another control cavity routed (with a plate instead of traditional battery compartments) wide enough for 2 9volts with a little room to spare, and do the coupled connection (ie the 3 9volt connectors). Or Just use this axe for EMGs and then put blackouts in one of my other 7s, and then if I like the blackouts more, then do a permanent solution. There are alot of Wiring-Gurus on this board, so I thought I would see what you guys thought. |

Ok just run the wires from each battery to the control cavity and mount a DPST mini switch in there that would be wired like this:
![]() This will make one side be series @ 18V and the other position be parallel @ 9V Someone please correct me if I am wrong. Hope this helps |
