Never tried a Distortion Neck, but a JB with Alnico VIII sounds GODLY. I'll be putting mine in my neck sooner or later but you might want to get more opinions from people who use normal-sized strings.

Ok, it's settled, as soon as I'm fully sober again and I have full control of my fingers I'm putting my JB-7 in the neck.

I tried putting the JB(I think!) in the neck, and I don't like it that much to be honest. Can the neck pickup affect the sound of your bridge pickup when you are only using the bridge pickup? I didn't think so, but my bridge doesn't sound as crushing as usual. Mind you, I only played for 5 mins and I'm pretty tired, so it could just be my imagination.

Anyways, back to the JB. I bought my Blackjack used but in pretty much mint condition. I recently threw a Duncan Custom in the bridge, and
there was definitely a difference in sound. However, after looking closely at my JB today, I saw that on the small white sticker on the back it said lots of numbers and then SH5... It didn't say the same as my Duncan Custom, but it said SH5, which makes me believe that I might just have had an older Duncan Custom in the bridge :P If so, I now have 2 Duncan Customs on my guitar. The guy I bought the guitar from never said anything about having changed pickups, I'm pretty sure that he advertised with a JB/'59 set, so I'm a bit confused...
