EMG pickups, color question

Hey there!

Just an "aestethic" question: is it possible to get a plastic cover for EMG pickups which is not black? Do they produce any replacement plastic part in some other color?

Cheers!

I believe they made them in white a while back? And that covers not exceeding thickness of 2mm should work if you want to cover it. Dunno if you can get them, but there's always DIY.

BTW, did you get my PM regarding the Orange?

Spray paint em Krylon fusion is meant for plastics.

There are only available in black and white, there are rumors about availability in chrome in few colors, but you can use paint as said before or wood (2mm is max thickness)

there was chrome and gold for the 25th anniversary models
they are normally available in white, ivory, or black.
You cannot replace the covers as they are epoxied on, they have to be ordered that way.
just paint them mang

Mmmmmm...thanks for answering...so I suppose that the only way to customize my 2228 is to paint those black things with a spray can, right? No chance to get a new plastic cover in white from EMG...

oh. the 7 and 8 string models are only available in black. even if they were available in white/ivory, youd have to replace the whole pickup. theyre epoxied on hardcore dude. youd totally rip the winding from the coils. You cant replace the covers, they have to be whichever ones when its made. theyre not filled with wax like most pickups, theyre filled with epoxy. Youll have to spray it. but its not like its a passive pup either. theres no pole pieces and shit, and no overspray into the coils to worry about. its a nice covered boxy thing. should be hella easy dude

Great, thanks for explanation. I think I'll go for a spray job...I had a look at that Krylon Fusion paint website, but it's not so useful...any of you can provide me some infos? Is it good as someone already wrote in a post? Last but not least...is it removable?

Thanks everyone again for your time and knowledge ;-)
