Fret buzz question

I've got a buzz on the low E string even when i play it open and i got a terrible buzz and no sustain at all on the first fret of the high E string. I just got this guitar new and haven't got it set up but i don't really want to if it's something i could easily fix. any solutions?

What kind of guitar? What type of bridge?

I love wasabi, too!

Anyway, I've had this problem before. It's easy to fix on a guitar with a tremolo. It takes a little more effort to fix on a hardtail guitar. The simplest solution would probably be raising the height of the bridge.

Ah ah! Yes, action adjustments. But in hardtails I oftentimes have to raise the action quite a bit to fix it, while in tremolo-equipped guitars, I can fix the problem without barely changing the action at all (I have various methods of fixing it).

umm no offense mang, but that doesnt make sense really, umm, i think the hardtails youre working on just need neck adjustments too.
what other "methods" do you have? they should frankly be the same for all guitars dude...

If I understand you correctly there can be problem with nut, maybe slots are to deep or something like that. Neck adjustment won't help if it's nut problem

my first suggestion would be a fret level. you can buy preradius'd boards for leveling from Stew-Mac, and from what i hear, htey do a great job....

thatd be my first step since its a brand new guitar...

Looking for an Ibanez RG970XL
