Its just a inconvenience, having 2 sets of pickup screws and not being able to use either.

Yeah, that's what I thought, but I mean position 2 and 4 REALLY have that tonal caracteristic that only I could only get using the parallel connected pickup with the stock switching (see http://www.ibanez.co.jp/products/ima...8/pickup/3.gif ) And the nice thing about that is that the only reason why I hesitated to move to active PUs is that I didn't want to lose that specific sound. Now, I can even get it for my bridge pickup (hence ending with a sound really close to the original stock, bridge pickup with enhanced clarity minus the mudiness) . Anyway here's how it sounds now with the blackouts (Dirty channel, OV COURSE).

1- (Bridge) - Crushing tone. Sharp and Clear sounding. (Divine Heresy)
2- (Bridge) - Darker sounding. Less gain/output. (KoRn)
3- (Bridge+Neck) - it does what it says, something I almost never use...
4- (Neck) - Feels like you can hear the clean tone throughout the dist. (Emperor Anthems)
5- (Neck) - Round sounding. Calls for bluesy leads (Metallica Load/Reload)

After playing with it for a while, I think I'm in love with that switching.
Amazingly polyvalent IMO Couldn't be happier with it.

I would put that on some longer connection on the switch, making the signal travel further to the output, or a slightly cold solder joint. Besides, aren't parallel wired pickups thinner/brighter sounding?

It's cool that it gives you another sound you like, but it's not parallel wired.

Well if you want shit done right, that's exactly what you have to do. If you took it to a tech, they'd probably have that shit laying around, because they have a billion of them sitting around probably. My Ibanez screws from my last pickups went through the tabs on my blackouts fine. The pots thing was kind of a piss off, but I don't wire them in anyways, I just didn't have a killswitch so I thought a volume knob might be a good idea

The thing is, Ibanez direct-mounts their pickups with those tiny screws. Seymour Duncan shouldn't have to include 16 different sizes of screws with each set of pickups to fit whatever your guitar manufacturer chooses to go with for their pickup screw size. That would be a bit ridiculous rather than you making the (more than likely) 30 minute or less trip to the hardware store to pick out a set that is short enough for your guitar. FWIW I was able to use the screws that came with my Duncan JB7/Jazz7 set in my old S7420 without them popping out the back, and I'm pretty sure that's thinner than the RG7321 IIRC.

Basically if the screws that came stock on your guitar don't fit with the new pickups, you might need to find shorter ones or have someone cut them down. I don't think the burden should fall on Duncan to have to supply more than the standard-sized screws they offer right now... I mean hey, they made the pickups the right size, right? I don't know if Home Depot does this or not but the small "mom and pop" hardware shop I had up the street from where I used to live in PA would cut down screws for me for free if I brought them in.
