If I'm not buying hand-wound sets from small company guys, I go Duncan all the way. Great company, great customer service. Wish other companies (hint - DIMARZIO) took the same stance.

No, you don't. Just e-mail Duncan tech support and ask them where you can buy a replacement baseplate. Odds are they will just send you one for free.

If I could get just a Lungren bridge pickup, that is what I would use. I was seriously impressed by the one in your Carvin, since it had just about everything I was looking for in a bridge pickup. Unfortunately, while the neck pickup was good at the hotrod PAF thing, I much prefer the Jazz for what I do.

Dimarzio's been pretty good with customer support, too, to be fair.

I just wish there was a set of (passive) Duncans that worked well with basswood.
