To drill or not to drill?
So, I decided to change the tuners on my 6 string. Unfortunately, I forgot they were screwless and so now I have 6 Planet Waves Auto-Trim Tuners that won't fit my guitar without drilling.
So my Q is: Should I go ahead and get it drilled for extra, is it worth the investment? I'm not gonna do it myself of course but it seems like it could be a proper pricey job. ![]() |

drill em man! i did a DIY route job for my 707s to fit into a normal cavity, its easy as fuck, just measure things up, get the right equipment going first, it will be pricey, because its altering your guitar in a major way (if that makes sense, pfft go me).
honestly id say you could do it yourself if your confident enough with a drill, just make sure you double check things, and make your measurements perfect, dont go the WHOLE hole in one go, gradually just chip away at it, thats the best advice i could give you. either that or save your dimes and get it done professionally, are you still at school? |

I'd say drill, but just remember, measure twice (or more), cut (drill) once.

Yep, I'm sanding down my guitar at school tomorrow. Then gonna apply tung-oil and shizzle there too. Would be there today but I'm sick.
