From my buddies at the JCF:

take 3 battery connectors, solder each wire (or twist them together and shrink tube) to the opposite color wire between all three of them. ex: conn. 1 red to conn. 2 black, conn. 2 red to conn. 3 black, conn. 3 red to conn. 1 black.

then clip one of the connectors to the original connector in the guitar, and attach 2 batteries. done. and easily reversible.

i actually learned that in conjunction with battery powered motors for small toys etc, i guess nobody ever mentions it in terms of guitars and emg's lol. only place ive seen it in that context was the one site someone on here posted about doing the 18v mod. I never even thought of it for guitars before seeing that, and ive used that trick tons of times for other stuff
