Urgh... stupid amp (floyd issues)
![]() So my amp and guitar were on the way to band practice..it was loaded carefully and everything. but somehow my (brand new) loomis (in a soft case ) slid down flat onto the floor of the trunk.. and then my spider III combo fell over on top of it... i got out of the car to check on it and the floyd got bashed in. the amp landed on the bar side the bridge of it and pushed it in toward the body. So now the knife edge is really scraped up and it's annoying even getting it back into position.. so how would i go about fixing this?.. this is my first floyd-equipped guitar so i'm not used to dealing with them. adam |

not yet, i was at my drummer's house and he has absolutely no tools of any kind so i couldn't even unlock the nut to loosen the strings. i just got home and i'm working on it right now, but the knife edge is pretty ugly, i would assume its not going to work so great now..

yeah but the knife edges are in the baseplate, so the thing would have to be replaced. it should be ok hopefully duder, it IS case hardened steel. you might be able to mill it flat.

Hardcase. Sorry to say after it happened, but there really is no substitute, and it stops stuff like this happening...
Take some pictures, maybe we can help you out! |

thats why you have your guitars riding shotgun with ya in the car and not in the trunk. also a hardshell might have saved ya - but then again hindsight is 20/20.
pics of the damage might help us in helping you. |
